The Dell Inspiron 15 has all the ports and connectivity that you will ever need. From the traditional Wi-Fi connectivity to the more advanced Bluetooth 5.1, this laptop is no short of any ports. For example, you also get a USB Type C port which can be used to charge the battery here.

Note that you get a traditional charging port (AC- Adapter) that works fine. For faster charging, we like the inclusion of a type-C port here. You can charge the full battery in an hour or so. We will talk about its battery life later in this review.

From the front side, there are no any ports located; it is all nice and clean. However, you get the majority of connectivity ports on the left side. Some of these ports are HDMI 1.4a, 2x USB 3.1 Gen. 1 Type-A, 3.5 mm combo audio, AC adapter, and USB 3.1 Type-C Gen. 1 with DP/Power Delivery.

The base variant of Inspiron 15 AMD comes with 256 GB of Storage. However, you can always expand it. We think it’s a pretty storage capacity for starters. But, for example, home users and students would be happy to see an SSD (Solid State Drive) storage.

Therefore, the loading times are snappy. You can open and also apps without too much of a delay. However, the average read and write speeds of these SSDs aren’t on par with some expensive offerings. But, again, that’s not something we were expecting from a budget offering.

Its aluminum casing does get a bit warm. When gaming, it may reach temperatures around 12 degrees Celsius. But again, that’s a pretty bearable temperature range. You won’t feel stressed out with these slightly warm temperature ratings.

Last but not the least, we had to test the battery of the Dell 15 5585. If we talk about the batteries’ capacity, there isn’t anything special to highlight here. The 42 Wh battery sounds like an average-sized battery.

But in reality, its performance impressed us a lot. It can easily last for around 5 to 7 hours of constant use-age. For a business laptop with an affordable price tag, that’s some good long hours of computing.
